For beginners and intermediate students learning the Yang Long Form. The Form is a gentle exercise sequence which works on mobility, balance, and general sense of wellbeing.
This course includes Warm up and Meditative walking sections which will prepare mind and body before you work on your T'ai Chi practice.
It is recommended that you spend a few weeks on Part I before moving onto Parts II and III.
At the heart of Helen's teaching is a simple belief:
"When we reconnect mind, body and breath, we are better able to navigate life's inevitable changes with greater ease, resilience and wellbeing. T'ai Chi offers a gentle and accessible way to cultivate that connection, helping us become more aware of ourselves and how we move through the world."
Filmed in the peaceful surroundings of Wittenham Clumps and Radley Lakes,* the programme includes guidance on posture and breathing, a gentle warm-up, meditative walking practice, and demonstrations of Parts I, II and III of the Yang Style Long Form, a flowing sequence of movements practised slowly and mindfully.
*With thanks to the Earth Trust for permission to film.
This demonstration film was requested by students as a resource for home practice between classes.
It is also a good resource for those who are learning completely from scratch. You are recommended to spend time on Part I before moving on.
The film includes a Warm-up section, as well as Meditative walking to prepare your mind and body for T'ai Chi.
Recommended that you run through those sections of the film before your T'ai Chi.
From complete beginners through to intermediate students who want to practise at home.
Whether you're completely new to T'ai Chi, returning to movement after a break, or looking for a resource to support your home practice, this film provides everything you need to enjoy the experience of T'ai Chi at your own pace.
